Two-factor authentication is required to log in with SWITCH edu-ID. The SMS-based multi-factor authentication option, which was available until now, will be disabled on 14 September 2026 as it is considered insecure. Please set up an alternative authentication method in good time to ensure that you can continue to access your account.
How to proceed:
- Log in to your SWITCH edu-ID account.

- Define a second authentication factor, such as an authenticator app or a passkey/security token.
Please note:
If SMS is still set up as your second authentication factor after 14 September 2026, you will only be able to log in with your edu-ID once you have set up an alternative method
